Savvy Cyclist Class
BINGHAMTON, NY - The New York Bicycling Coalition will be presenting a free bicycling class on Monday, March 10, 2008 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Broome County Health Department, 225 Front Street, Binghamton. Joshua Poppel, Executive Director of the New York Bicycling Coalition will be presenting. This class is open to all riders (or aspiring riders) — 14 years of age or older.
The class provides information on the vehicle and traffic laws of New York State and how they apply to bicyclists. The course will cover common collision scenarios and how to avoid them, discuss safe riding techniques and provide lights and other resources to keep bicyclists safe on the streets.
Whether you are a new or experienced cyclist, the Road I class gives cyclists the confidence they need to ride safely and legally in traffic or on the trail and prepares cyclists for a full understanding of vehicular cycling.
If you are interested in attending this free education class, please RSVP to Christine Muss, Traffic Safety Coordinator for the Broome County Health Department at 607–778–2807 by Thursday, March 6, 2008.
