In line with commercial airports across the country, the security checkpoint screeners at the Greater Binghamton Airport have recently been transitioned to a federally operated team. Working as a unified group, these new federal screeners have been tasked to provide safe and customer friendly security services that the travelers of our region deserve and rightfully expect. All indications show that this talented group is up for the task before them.

This high quality service is of great importance as passenger traffic continues to grow at our airport. Currently, airports across the country are experiencing double-digit percentage decreases in passenger boardings, while BGM has encountered better results. For example, compared to 2001, passenger traffic in the months of August and September 2002 has shown notable percentage increases. Results such as these are a testament to our community.
